It can be said that every task requires effort. How much effort depends on the task.
Achieving goals which lead to your envisioned reality requires 100% completion.
Why do we stop exerting effort just before we are about to complete our goals?
The short term habit of stopping or quitting before the desired task is completed leads to long term routines of not following through.
If we take a step back and imagine observing our ideal life from a less magnified perspective an important aspect is revealed.
In order to accomplish our dreams of a life that makes us truly happy it becomes apparently clear that we must complete our goals to the fullest possible for achievement.
I remember a time in my life when I was attempting to learn how to play acoustic guitar and learning how to speak the Danish language.
Progress was moving me closer to learning how to play a song on the guitar and understanding how to formulate basic sentences in the Danish language.
Just like an unfinished story, I stopped learning. It was an unfortunate decision as I was so close to continuing two enjoyments that would have added greater value in my life.
The experience was not wasted, but an opportunity was in grasp and not seized.
If I had exerted just a little more effort for a short period longer, I may have learned many songs and steadily increased a fluency in the Danish language.
There are always priorities in our lives with various tasks and goals which are important to us.
When we have already invested considerable effort in something, what benefit is achieved by stopping or quitting the moment before we climb over the summit?
The benefit of not stopping is this;
Each new experience we finish increases our confidence, self belief in ourselves, perseverance tolerance and understanding of how momentum works.
We can then access these important qualities every moment we need them.
One major solution which alleviates this problem is planning. With a plan we can monitor and evaluate our progress, next steps we need to take and adjust if needed.
When we overcome the challenges associated with reaching full completion of the achieved task or goal we exercise a life long character trait. Perseverance.
A powerful bind forms when perseverance, confidence, self belief, and a conceptualized understanding of momentum are harnessed. Achieving becomes an expectation in which we demand from ourselves.
Our expectations of ourselves makes us accountable to achieve and seize presented opportunities. This leads us towards what we envision and value the most.
