Asking the right questions in life can help to give us greater insights and perspectives of answers we are wanting to know in our lives. It is an important aspect in solving problems.
Solving problems alleviates the challenges and seizes the opportunities that are presented before us when we try to accomplish our goals and dreams.
Asking the right questions will enable us to create multi-faceted opportunities.
What this means is that you may be exerting your efforts toward a defined outcome, but many other opportunities may be presented throughout the accomplishment phase. The focus of your questions combined with the answers you produce will help to create many other opportunities when action is taken.
The more in depth the question you ask, the more concise and helpful the answer will be.
For example, instead of asking ourselves, “Why do bad things keep happening to me in my life?” or “Why can’t I achieve success?”
Ask yourself instead; “What can I do to create greater “things” (be specific) in my life?” “What is my definition of success, what does it mean to me? What do I need to do to achieve it?”
Asking the right questions can be easily applied to relationships, business, family, health, achieving your goals and dreams.
How we ask the right questions in life
Focusing on progressive achievement and positive change induces a mindset that directs our thoughts and energy towards conquering imposed challenges and creative outlets which allows us to forge new paths forward.
Asking the right questions gravitates around our focus. Focusing on the negative outcomes of a situation will only produce questions leading towards failure and the incorrect results we envision.
The first step is to change our focus from why we can’t succeed, won’t succeed or continually trap ourselves by brainstorming reasons why we can’t accomplish or overcome challenges.
The next step is to divert our focus towards things we can do that will help lead us to succeed and accomplish the tasks that will create the happiness we seek to improve.
Examples when I have needed to ask the right questions in life
Finding my passions and life purpose- What are my core life values? What am I passionate about? How can I incorporate these passions in my life more often/everyday? What is stopping me from living these passions? What can I do to overcome these challenges? Who do I know that has overcome these same challenges? What is the realistic time period that can be anticipated to overcome the challenges?..etc…..
Parenting and family growth- What important lessons and learning can I pass on to my kids that would help them benefit in their life? How can I help and support my wife and kids to live a life that they truly enjoy? What activities or moments can we experience that will bring our family a deeper connection with each other?…etc…
Career and self growth- What would I like to learn? What traits would I like to improve? What are my strengths and weaknesses? What can I do that would make my job or career more fulfilling? What areas of my life would I like to improve? What is holding me back? How can I take action and start today? Who do I know that has achieved what I want to improve?….etc….
It takes practice to begin asking the right questions in life. When this mindset change begins to occur, the accuracy of your questions become more clear. It will help to create efficient actions required to accomplish, overcome, and achieve . This creates a path to move forward in the direction you want to go.
Asking the right questions will help open doorways to new opportunities which we create. We just need to understand what those opportunities are that we want to create. Once we decide what they are, they will be within reach. We can then follow the path and grab hold of the opportunities that await our desire, perseverance and passions.
