A limit implies a point to which can’t be exceeded or passed.
What if that limit could be exceeded?
Our beliefs about limits would obviously be changed.
Many goal and life enthusiast achievers profess that who you are is what you believe. What you see is what you believe.
If this is true, then it would indicate that we control and set our limits in our life and on ourselves.
When we operate in life with self limiting beliefs, the limits we impose on ourselves can have a devastating impact on a great life we envision.
They gradually become an excuse and a fear.
“I can’t do that because……” is the ultimate statement which holds us back.
A belief is something that we have decided to adopt as a strong interpretation of what we see and hold conviction for.
Just as a conviction for something can change, so does the interpretation of what we see.
When we choose to change our self limiting beliefs, that is when great things can start to occur.
Changing a self limiting belief means reprogramming your mind to think and act how you want to be.
Identifying the self limiting belief is essential in order to change it.
I have identified some self limiting beliefs that I have allowed to befriend me in life which have kept me chained to a world of disillusion.
My Self Limiting Beliefs Through Life
- I am not talented enough, I won’t be able to succeed
- I am not successful
- I can’t do it because I might fail
- I have failed before, I might fail again
- I lack experience selling- I must be a poor salesperson
- I can’t do it because I might look silly/foolish
- I am inferior without self confidence
When I acknowledge that these beliefs are not true, I possess the ability to change them and a feeling and sense of inner empowerment overcomes me. I control my limits.
I realized in order to make great changes in my life, it required and continually requires me to change these self limiting beliefs.
I interpret the impact self limiting beliefs have in our lives as not only a barrier, but an obstacle to how we perceive what happiness and success is to us.
How would things change if the self limiting beliefs we have were untrue?
Identifying our self limiting beliefs is the first step towards changing what we are truly capable of.
